Durante cinco emocionantes d\u00edas, el Sihkru Tara celebra la unidad, la conexi\u00f3n y la vitalidad cultural, Sihkru siendo originalmente un rito festivo para comunicar con los esp\u00edritus de los muertos y Tara significando grande. Es a la vez un intercambio entre generaciones y una estrategia para superar las divisiones que han sido establecidas por distantes funcionarios en capitales desconectadas. Es un espacio para generar cercan\u00eda y solidaridad, y un movimiento para el orgullo desafiante de la identidad ind\u00edgena.\u00a0<\/p>\n <p>Las comunidades miskitus han realizado desde hace mucho tiempo celebraciones locales para conectar con esp\u00edritus ancestrales, compartir chicha de la misma gran olla, y bailar a trav\u00e9s de la noche con canciones que hablan del amor, de la muerte y de las sirenas, mal\u00e9volos esp\u00edritus acu\u00e1ticos quienes a menudo son responsables cuando algo va mal. Sin embargo, la impresionante haza\u00f1a log\u00edstica de reunir a comunidades de toda La Moskitia, a ambos lados de la frontera, est\u00e1 solo en su decimotercer a\u00f1o. La idea la tuvo Brooklyn Rivera, l\u00edder de YATAMA, la organizaci\u00f3n ind\u00edgena miskitu de Nicaragua, quien describi\u00f3 la visi\u00f3n del Sihkru Tara de \u201crevitalizar la cultura, fortalecer la identidad y, por ende pues, todos los derechos, a la tierra, a la autonom\u00eda, y a la defensa de los recursos naturales.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"custom-gallery-block_616de5f5b103b\" <p>Las invasiones de tierras ind\u00edgenas, particularmente por agricultores mestizos, han dejado las comunidades ind\u00edgenas de los dos lados de la frontera enfrent\u00e1ndose a la violencia en sus propias tierras, incluso despu\u00e9s de que la mayor\u00eda hayan recibido los t\u00edtulos del terreno. En muchos casos, la migraci\u00f3n a tierras que supuestamente son \u2018tierras estatales vac\u00edas\u2019 en La Moskitia ha conllevado la venta ilegal de tierra a colonos armados que est\u00e1n cortando amplias \u00e1reas de bosque. En algunos lugares, una minor\u00eda peque\u00f1a de Miskitu han vendido ilegalmente partes de sus tierras y las invasiones se han intensificado al llegar m\u00e1s colonos. L\u00edderes de las comunidades esperan que al fortalecer su identidad cultural, esos Miskitus valorar\u00e1n su conexi\u00f3n con la tierra m\u00e1s que el dinero que pueden sacar de ella. Como Nacel Kiapa Pantin, Presidente del Consejo Territorial de Bakmasta en Honduras, explic\u00f3, \u201cQueremos recordar nuestros ancestros, nuestros padres o abuelos que anteriormente cuidaban la tierra totalmente, no se met\u00edan en eso de vender tierra.\u201d<\/p>\n <p>Los desaf\u00edos que hacen frente a los pueblos ind\u00edgenas de la regi\u00f3n tienen mucho en com\u00fan y el Sihkru Tara, programado para coincidir con el D\u00eda Internacional de Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas, se vuelve cada vez m\u00e1s una afirmaci\u00f3n no solo de la unidad entre los Miskitus, sino entre todos los pueblos ind\u00edgenas de la regi\u00f3n. Ceferino Pravia describi\u00f3 c\u00f3mo \u201clos gobiernos estatales modernos ahora est\u00e1n tratando de exterminar la cultura de los pueblos ind\u00edgenas y convertir a los ind\u00edgenas en parte de una sociedad igualitaria. Nosotros estamos luchando en contra de eso.\u201d Artistas Miskitus fueron acompa\u00f1ados por tambores Gar\u00edfunas, danzas rituales Rama y Mayangna, y m\u00fasica Tuahka para crear un evento inclusivo para la solidaridad ind\u00edgena.<\/p>\n <p>Desde el primer Sihkru Tara en Nicaragua, se ha alternado entre los dos pa\u00edses, con el evento de este a\u00f1o organizado por MASTA, la organizaci\u00f3n ind\u00edgena de los Miskitu de Honduras, en el departamento hondure\u00f1o de Gracias a Dios. 485 Nicarag\u00fcenses cruzaron la frontera para asistir. Las festividades empezaron en el pueblo fronterizo de Waspam, antes de trasladarse a Mocor\u00f3n para la inauguraci\u00f3n hondure\u00f1a del Sihkru. Durante la tercera velada, las festividades se dispersaron entre diferentes comunidades de la regi\u00f3n antes de reconvocarse en la capital regional de Puerto Lempira para las dos noches finales, a las que asistieron alrededor de 1000 personas.<\/p>\n <p>Joakina Acu\u00f1a Cruz, la \u00fanica cantante femenina Miskitu, record\u00f3 que en la primera Sihkru Tara \u201cLos miembros m\u00e1s ancianos nos explicaron qu\u00e9 es lo que hac\u00edan anta\u00f1o, c\u00f3mo era su cultura, y entonces nos dimos cuenta que nos est\u00e1bamos desviando de ella.\u201d Desde entonces el Sihkru Tara ha desempe\u00f1ado un papel importante en conectar a la juventud Miskitu con las tradiciones de su pueblo y de infundir nuevo vigor a la pasi\u00f3n por la m\u00fasica, el baile, y el patrimonio cultural que todav\u00eda se ve amenazado por la globalizaci\u00f3n incesante. \u201cSi no fuera por el Sihkru, la cultura ya se estar\u00eda perdiendo.\u201d Joakina dijo que \u201cLa juventud ya no quer\u00eda bailar la m\u00fasica miskita sino que solo les interesaba la m\u00fasica de la discoteca, \u00a1Sent\u00edan verguenza al bailar su m\u00fasica! Pero, con el Sihkru, \u00a1Ahora todos bailan alegre!\u201d<\/p>\n <p>Aunque la m\u00fasica y el baile desempe\u00f1an un papel importante, algunos preferir\u00edan que el enfoque fuera m\u00e1s claramente espiritual. Sin embargo, incluso un joven que afirm\u00f3 que solo hab\u00eda venido para la fiesta reflexion\u00f3 \u201ccuando veo a las ancianas bailar, me pregunto c\u00f3mo era mi gente antes.\u201d A juzgar por los movimientos de esas mujeres, su pueblo tiene una historia profundamente vivaz corriendo por sus venas. Nunca he visto movimiento tan juvenil en las caderas de una mujer de 80 y pico a\u00f1os. Alab\u00e9 a una mujer por su capacidad para bailar y pronto me encontr\u00e9 bailando con ella ante un gran p\u00fablico divertido y de c\u00e1maras de celulares. Su rostro lleno de arrugas risue\u00f1as brillaba de pura alegr\u00eda y ella ya estaba casi en el suelo antes de darme yo cuenta de que se me estaba retando a ver \u2018cu\u00e1nto puedes bajar.\u2019<\/p>\n <p>Entre las actuaciones musicales hubo tambi\u00e9n presentaciones de ritos espirituales, como el de comunicarse con los esp\u00edritus de los muertos y conjurarlos para que no lleven el alma de un pariente moribundo. Otras presentaciones culturales describieron la cacer\u00eda y el encanto de las sirenas, mientras que durante la tarde hubo foros para discutir cuestiones como la gobernanza y el manejo de los
