Iniquilipi Chiari Lombardo
Guna Yala | Panama
Iniquilipi Chiari Lombardo is an Indigenous communicator and environmental advocate from Guna Yala’s territory in Panama. His passion shines through TV Indígena, the digital platform he co-founded in 2017 to let Indigenous communities tell their own stories straight from their territories instead of waiting for outsiders to speak for them.
From the remote river basins of Darien forest to the halls of the United Nations and COP summits, he amplifies Indigenous Peoples voices with authenticity and reach.
Key Experiences:
• Governmental Policy: Led the creation of Panama’s Ministry of Environment Office of Indigenous Peoples and coordinated the creation of protected areas like Matusagarati, the country’s largest wetland.
• Youth Leadership: Founding president of the Guna Youth General Congress; facilitated global youth movements via the Global Alliance of Territorial Communities, partnering with groups like AMAN (Asia), REPALEAC (Africa), AMPB (Mesoamerica), APIB (Brazil), and COICA (Amazon basin).
• Biocultural Promotion: Co-founded Geoversity to blend ecosystem protection with cultural identity and leadership.
Educated in Switzerland, Iniquilipi serves as a vital bridge translating complex global climate policies for local communities while ensuring international forums honor Indigenous autonomy and cosmovision.
Today, he’s telling powerful stories about global projects impacting Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendants, and local communities’ territories.
