Kuyu is a filmmaker in Kuyujani Produccion Audiovisual and belongs to the Indigenous People of Yekwana (State of Bolivar, Venezuela). He graduated in Social Communications, specialized in audio-visual productions, and is a national independent filmmaker who has directed many animated short films, including: ‘Dijaawa Wotunnöi – La Historia Ancestral de Dijaawa’ and ‘Jüwai Meda´Cha – El Primer Chamán Yekwana’. He is also the coordinator of the Communication Department of the Indigenous Organization of Cuenca del Caura y Erebato Kuyujani, which includes 52 indigenous communities Yekwana y Sanema in Venezuela. He is also a social activist defending Indigenous territories.
