Uboye Gaba is a researcher, cameraman, and environmental activist from the Waorani nationality of the Ecuadorian Amazon. He has worked extensively as a linguistic researcher to document his mother tongue, Wao-Terero. He has been an invited delegate at various international meetings to present Indigenous perspectives on environmental issues, including the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland. Additionally, he is a leader and Community Guardian, responsible for protecting and preserving photographic and video documentation of endangered animals such as jaguars, tapirs, paca, anacondas, howler monkeys, black guans (pavas negras), among others.
