Sushmita Dutta is a Bengali woman born in India, and part of the Shodhvahini Media Collective. She has been working with tribals since 2014 in some of the remotest parts of India and has developed a passion and empathy towards an uncharted, untamed, unspoiled, and much misunderstood segment of society. She began the adventure while working in PRADAN (a Civil society organization), where she gained an appreciation for rural life, treasured the variety of cultures, and respected the biodiversity. Sushmita uses the art of filmmaking and photography to connect with people and communities. She channelize her creativity while she travels in search of stories, photos and videos to raise awareness about the communities, culture, food and nature. Currently, Sushmita is documenting success stories, creating animated stories, and making films for social work projects.
